Citrus Breeze

Jordan had always loved the crisp scent of lemongrass, but he recently discovered it could do more than make tea—it could transform his cleaning routine.

He placed a small pot of lemongrass on the kitchen windowsill. After cooking, he would crush a few stalks and rub them on the counter edges or around the sink. The citrusy aroma instantly refreshed the space, and its natural antibacterial properties helped keep surfaces clean.

Jordan also experimented with a simple cleaning spray: he boiled lemongrass stalks in water, let it cool, then poured it into a spray bottle. Wiping down tables, counters, and even windows left his kitchen smelling fresh and lifted the mood of anyone who walked in. Lemongrass also naturally repelled small insects, making the pantry and windowsills more pleasant.

He kept a few precautions in mind. The oils in lemongrass are strong, so he never used them undiluted on the skin or near his cat. The stalks also needed regular trimming to keep the plant healthy. With these small steps, lemongrass became a fragrant, effective cleaning ally.

After finishing, Jordan inhaled deeply. The citrusy freshness made his kitchen feel vibrant and cared for. Cleaning wasn’t just a chore—it was a way to nurture his home and his senses.
