Honey and Healing

She stirred a teaspoon of honey into her warm herbal tea, letting it dissolve slowly. Honey has natural antibacterial properties and has been studied for its ability to soothe symptoms of oral infections, including mild cases of thrush (Mandal and Mandal 8).

The warmth of the liquid helped coat her throat, easing irritation and providing comfort. Research also suggests that consuming honey with warm beverages can support mucosal healing and reduce discomfort from minor infections (Al-Waili et al. 123). She sipped deliberately, feeling both relief and a sense of care for her body.
