Purring Comfort

The cat circled her legs and settled in her lap. Interaction with companion animals has been shown to reduce stress, lower blood pressure, and increase feelings of emotional well-being (Friedmann and Son 38).

Regular contact with pets can also provide social support, reducing loneliness and enhancing mood (McNicholas and Collis 136). She stroked the fur slowly, feeling tension drain from her shoulders. Love did not need words. It purred.
